Rumours about NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 20GB or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 20GB, whatever you call it, have been nothing less than a twisted roller coaster in the last few months with the card getting confirmed, then getting cancelled, then getting resurrected from the dead with a different specification, to then getting indefinitely postponed - we have seen it all or have we? Now we have got a few alleged benchmarks of the GeForce RTX 3080 20GB graphics card running Fire Strike, Fire Strike Extreme, Fire Strike Ultra, Time Spy, Time Spy Extreme, Port Royal along side a few gaming benchmarks. But before we go ahead with providing you further information we ask you to take all the benchmarks with a huge grain of salt given the not-so-trustworthy source and the fact that no glimpse of the graphics card was provided during the whole video. With all that said now lets get into the details, shall we?

Today's NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (Ti) 20GB graphics card story comes from bilibili where a user posted a video in which the alleged RTX 3080 20GB graphics card was being tested and compared it against the conventional - already available for purchase in the fictional market - RTX 3080 10GB and the RTX 3090 24GB graphics card. Now we mentioned earlier that this information is to be taken with a huge grain of salt given as we cannot confirm the credibility of the source and as one can notice that throughout the whole video the Big Hardware Player host did not even give us a glimpse of the alleged card except the screenshots from GPU-Z.

As one can notice, the alleged RTX 3080 20GB graphics card that was tested has the same GPU core as the RTX 3090 with the same 10,496 CUDA Cores on both GPUs and have the same base and boost clocks at 1395MHz and 1695MHz respectively - even the PCI ID (2204) of the RTX 3080 20GB almost matches the RTX 3090's where as the RTX 3080 10GG's PCI ID is 2206. But the RTX 3080 20GB and RTX 3080 10GB have the same memory bus at 320 bit and same Memory clocks at 19Gbps resulting in the same memory bandwidth of 17GBps.

A twitter user (@harukaze5719) compiled the data from the video and created a handy chart comparing the RTX 3080 20GB graphics card against the RTX 3090 24GB card. When compared to the alleged RTX 3080 20GB graphics card that was tested, the RTX 3090 24GB in Fire Strike was 7.7% faster, in Fire Strike Extreme it was about 3% faster, in Fire Strike Ultra it was about 2.6% faster, in Time Spy it was about 2% faster, in Time Spy Extreme it was about 1% faster and in Port Royal the RTX 3090 was 1.7% faster than the alleged RTX 3080 20GB graphics card.

Here are the game benchmark screenshots from the video for those who are interested:

From the above screenshots it is apparent that the performance of the alleged RTX 3080 (Ti) 20GB graphics card is more in the ball park of the RTX 3090 24GB graphics card's performance and not the RTX 3080 10GB graphics card's performance. The RTX 3080 20GB / RTX 3080 Ti 20GB model is rumoured to have an MSRP of $999 USD.

So what do you think about the alleged benchmarks that were run on the alleged RTX 3080 20GB graphics card, what do you think about the alleged performance of the card compared to the alleged pricing of $999 USD? Do let us know down in the comments section below.
