XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster MERC 319 Unboxing & Hands On Photos

XFX have teased their custom XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster Mercury 319 over on their social media accounts, but we have an early and exclusive unboxing video from a YouTube channel named Tech of Tomorrow where they unboxed and showed off the RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc 319. You can watch the video down below.
Watch the unboxing video here:
But if you do not want to watch a video and just want to read and take a look at the images / photos of the card then continue reading / scrolling through this article.
Coming to the box that the XFX RX 6800 XT Speedster MERC 319 graphics card ships in, in itself is huge. It is a black box that has the XFX and Mercury 319 branding on top, with white AMD Radeon RX 6800XT branding in a red trapezoidal box in the bottom with specifications and the most of the box being occupied by the red Speedster branding in the background and MERC 319 branding on top in white.
Once you have opened the box you are greeted with foam covering and once you remove it you will be greeted with 1 warranty card and 1 user manual.

Once you removed the top foam sheet and the user manuals, you will get the first look of the card itself wrapped inside in a plastic bag which is placed inside protective foam.

Coming to how to card looks from the front, it has a 3 fan design with 2 outer fans being lager than the middle one with all 3 of them sporting the XFX logo stickers. On top of the middle fan you can also see the engraved RADEON branding. Also there are small circular indentations / depressions all over the front of the card. Also on the left and right edges there are silver colored trims on the card.

Coming to the top it has the XFX branding on the extreme right as well as the Radeon RX 6800 XT branding more in the center but with a little offset to the left side. You can also see the 2x 8-pin PCIe power connectors right before when the PCB ends i.e. before the XFX branding. Also the silver trims from the front of the card also continue on the top of the card. As you can also see, the PCB does not span across the length of the card and ends right before the cut out on the back plate which will discuss about in the later section of the article.

There are 4 display outs on the XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc 319 graphics card: 1x HDMI 2.1, 2x Display ports 1.4a and 1 USB Type-C. The I/O bracket has wide grills and the XFX branding cut out on it.

On the back of the card you can see the full length metal back plate with the cut out for air to flow through for better thermals. There are also cutouts forming XFX. The back plate also takes the small circular indentations / depressions that are present on the front shroud of the card, but instead has pass through holes in it. There is also huge MERC branding printed on the back plate in white. Also the silver trims continue on the back of the card on the left and right edges with small pieces of them appearing on the right ends of the top and bottom edges.

Now coming to the specifications of the card XFX, as on the day of writing has not officially announced any specifications yet but we do have some info in the video regarding the dimensions of the card. We recommend you watch the whole video if you want to learn everything about the card. The card occupies 3 PCIe slots worth of spacing and is about 13-inches long or 330 mm long. Down below is a comparison of the RX 6800XT Merc against the previous generation 3-fan THICC card from XFX.
The Radeon RX 6800 XT is based on the RDNA2 architecture on the 7nm process node from TSMC and has 72 CUs with 4608 Stream processors, 72 Ray Accelerators and 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 256-bit bus. XFX is recommending a 750W PSU for this card, there is no boost clock specification out yet for this card.
Coming to the pricing of the card, there is no official pricing yet from XFX themselves but the speculation is that the XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc 319 will be priced at around $749 USD (do note that this is just a speculation and is not official pricing). As for the review and availability of the card, it is expected to hit the shelves for purchase on the 25th November, 2020 and on the same day the reviews go out and Tech of Tomorrow will be reviewing this card in a couple days time, so hop on to their channel for the review.
